There is reason to hope - the number of fatal overdoses in central Ohio has decreased over the past few years. According to the five-year trend report from the Franklin County Coroner’s Office numbers showed 258 fatal overdoses in the county through the first two quarters of this year, 130 lower than the same period last year. Casey Walker, former Maryhaven client, now sober since 2012, bravely shared his story of battling drug addiction with NBC4. He said it started with pain pills, which led to heroin. He first stepped foot in addiction treatment center Maryhaven in 2012. Maryhaven helped him turn his life around and he’s been sober since. “It gets better,” he said. “There’s hard, it’s going to be hard, but you just have to focus on continuously trying to improve yourself and remembering that it’s always going to get better. Just try to stay positive and keep the final goal in sight.” Click the link for the full story and interview : https://shorturl.at/TSeZB
