Today, MARC Director of Business Development Morgan Pagels attended a pickleball tournament in Great Falls, Virginia, hosted by our friends at AMFM Healthcare and Great Falls Wellness

Today, MARC Director of Business Development Morgan Pagels was in Pennsylvania at Synergy, attending the The Young Adult Symposium hosted by Synergy and Red Oak Recovery

Today, we want to recognize and celebrate the 5 year MARC anniversary of Jessica Jackson! Jess is the Medical Coordinator here at Maryland Addiction Recovery Center, overseeing the operations of our medical office. In her role, she coordinates internal appointments with our psychiatrists and nurse practitioner, external medical appointments for our patients with collaborating providers and medical specialists, manages the schedules of MARC medical team, and maintains patient medical records. Jess started at MARC on our recovery support staff as a Therapist Assistant (TA), moving on to her current role and becoming a key member of our administrative staff and one of the vital cogs in the MARC operations that helps to ensure patients receive the highest quality of medical and clinical care when in treatment for addiction and mental health issues. We are grateful for her passion in helping MARC patients find recovery, her commitment to our organization, and the invaluable support she offers to all departments and members of the MARC staff. Congratulations, Jess!

We are grateful that MARC was once again named to Newsweek Magazine’s ranking of “America’s Best Addiction Treatment Centers.” The 2024 list honors the treatment facilities that lead their respective communities for quality of service, reputation and accreditation. This is the fifth year that Newsweek has published these rankings. The Newsweek rankings are based on a national online survey of more than 4,000 medical professionals in the addiction treatment industry, along with accreditation data from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) and Google reviews to measure patient experience

Today, we want to recognize and celebrate the 2 year MARC anniversary of Rosemary Lokko, CRNP! Rosemary is the Nurse Practitioner here at Maryland Addiction Recovery Center, a vital member of our medical team. Rosemary provides direct medical care to our patients while they are in treatment at MARC, as well as coordinates with any outside medical providers or specialists to ensure all patients are receiving collaborative care for their medical needs. She helps patients with non-acute medical issues, manage any chronic illnesses they may have, and helps them move towards a path of preventative health and wellness in their early recovery. We are grateful for her compassionate care and ongoing support to our patients. Congratulations, Rosemary!

Because not every position or role within behavioral healthcare has a national appreciation day, this year we decided to award members or teams of the Maryland Addiction Recovery Center staff with their own appreciation day throughout the year. So, today is MARC Admissions Professionals Day, where we are celebrating the members of our incredible and hardworking admissions team! Our onsite admissions team, Director of Admissions Maura Maguire, ADT, and Intake Specialists Amanda Winfield, CSC-AD, and Sean O’Brien, ADT, are the first voices a potential patient, concerned loved one, or referring professional hears when they call MARC. Maura, Amanda, and Sean walk with the patient, family members, and referring professionals through the intake and admissions process, and prepare them to begin a journey of treatment, healing, and recovery. We are grateful for their passion, dedication, and commitment to MARC, to our patients, to patient’s families, and to the professionals they collaborate with daily. Today, we want to recognize and celebrate the 5 year MARC anniversary of Greg Buchser. Greg is one of our Therapists Assistants (TAs) here at Maryland Addiction Recovery Center, as well as our Alumni Coordinator. A vital member of the recovery support staff, Greg works directly in patient care as well as helping to support MARC alumni and local alumni initiatives within the local community. Enjoying working in a dynamic team environment, he helps patients at MARC in treatment for addiction and mental health issues work towards creating resiliency and independence. He is also intimately involved in connecting current patients with our local alumni community, allowing current patients to form strong and healthy bonds in early recovery, as well as go out with local alumni to learn how to have fun in sobriety and live in recovery. We are grateful for his commitment and dedication to our organization, our mission, and our patients. Congratulations, Greg!
