Meet Betty Cervantes, one of our dedicated Case Managers at Masada. For the past 6 years, Betty has made a lasting impact on the lives of children and families through her compassionate and dedicated work.
“I’m motivated by the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of those facing challenges,” Betty explains. “At Masada, I’ve seen how our support helps children develop the skills they need to succeed, both at home and in school. Whether it’s skill-building with a client or empowering a parent through conversation, even the smallest changes can positively impact a family’s dynamic.”
One of Betty’s proudest moments was working with a teenage client who was struggling with depression and missing school. “Over time, she took her senior year more seriously, applied to colleges, and was accepted to her first choice, CSULA. Today, she’s thriving as a student and has a much stronger relationship with her mother.”
Betty’s Hispanic background plays a key role in her work. “Growing up without much guidance, I’ve come to appreciate the importance of community and support. In my role, I connect with the Hispanic community by sharing my experiences and helping others navigate their paths, just as I wish I had. I hope to inspire and support young people on their educational journeys.”
The most rewarding aspect of Betty’s work? “It’s seeing the transformation in the children and families I support. Success isn’t always about big milestones—it’s the small victories, like a client learning to express themselves or a parent advocating for their child.”
We are incredibly grateful for Betty’s dedication and the positive impact she brings to the Masada community every day.
