Today, it was a privilege to join MOITI Massachusetts Office of International Trade and Investment in hosting Ambassador of Norway to the United States Anniken Huitfeldt, Minister of Fisheries and Oceans Marianne Sivertsen Næss, and the Norwegian Delegation for a meaningful discussion on our shared ambitions for cleaner energy and strengthening our maritime economies. Norway is Massachusetts’ 20th largest trading partner with over $778.6 million exchanged annually, and after trying your smoked salmon gift this morning, there’s no question why!

Was thrilled to share the stage with Dwaign Tyndal, Quentin Palfrey, Theresa Bedeau and Brooke M. Thomson. Melissa Lavinson did a fabulous job kicking off the day by setting the stage and framing the conversation on a just equitable energy transition. Thank you Alternatives for Community and Environment and Browning the Green Space for bringing us together!

Yesterday, Commissioner Heiple visited MassDEP's Central Regional Office in Worcester to provide an update on the year ahead and hear from staff on key regional matters. From responding to environmental emergencies - to engaging with the community, we are grateful for everything they do to ensure a clean and safe environment. This office is also home to our Watershed Planning Program staff, who work across the state to monitor and protect the health of our surface waters and ensure clean water in Massachusetts. Thank you, Team WPP!

Access to nature is a human right. Last fall, we launched the Trails for All Initiative in partnership with Unpaved Trails for All and Appalachian Mountain Club. Accessible trails benefit more than just people who use mobility devices. They provide safe, equitable access for seniors, people with disabilities, mobility considerations, small children, and their caregivers to enjoy the outdoors. Learn more about the initiative:
