CEO, MAYA Consulting | Equity-Centered Systems Strategist

Yesterday evening, I had the honor of winning an award at the 2024 Woman’s Way Awards with Austin Woman Magazine. Our award was in the “Business to Watch (over $5 million)” category, which was described as the following — From impressive fiscal success to excellent leadership, this business is making a noteworthy mark on Austin and its industry at large. A key factor defining success may include the ability for future growth, community impact and opportunity for women. It should be noted that fiscal success, excellent leadership, ability for future growth, community impact, and opportunity would not at all be possible without the whole team at MAYA Consulting. I feel honored everyday to lead this amazing team working to strengthen social capital and economic mobility within and across communities. Special shoutout to Austin Woman Magazine for creating a safe, diverse, inclusive, and celebratory space. As someone who has worked in the nonprofit and public sector for most of my career, I felt a smidge outside of my comfort zone being in a room with incredible women leaders across all sectors. But I quickly felt welcomed, celebrated, and inspired by the impact these women are having on the Austin community. Huge congratulations to all of the nominees and to the other award winners — Katie Bouchillon, OTR, ATP, CBIST, MCMT, Jill Gonzalez, Neasel Conner, LPC, Rosamaria Murillo, PhD, LMSW, Marisel Ballard, Shalou Dhamija Barth, Sarah Yant, Michelle Lapides, Cristina Schneider and Tamara Atkinson!
