Our team had the sweet opportunity to work on an iconic project at Carlo's Bake Shop in #NYC! 🍰 McLaren’s Structures team designed the structural framework and connections for the new marquee and LED #signage that now graces the storefront. This project beautifully blends vintage charm with modern engineering—right in the heart of the city. From designing the main framing members to detailing the attachment points, our engineers ensured that the entire 40 foot long marquee structure is rock solid and NYC Building Code-compliant, while maintaining the shop's signature look. Check out this newly re-vamped storefront near Times Square, now lighting up the entire block! #DigitalSignage

McLaren's #NewJersey office celebrated the spirit of competition with the first-ever McLaren Office Olympics, inspired by the Paris #Olympics! Teams of colleagues took part in a series of fun and challenging events, including a water balloon toss, three-legged race, rubber band archery, hula hoop marathon, coffee cup run, and more. The energy was high as everyone cheered on their favorite teams: Team Concrete, Team Steel, Team Wood, and Team Aluminum. It was a great opportunity for some friendly competition, teamwork, and of course, a bit of fun after the work day. Congratulations to Team Concrete for taking home the gold! #Engineers #CompanyCulture

This 10,000-square-foot floating wetland exhibit in Baltimore’s Inner Harbor marks the culmination of 14 years of planning, innovation, and collaboration. The Harbor Wetland recreates a vital salt marsh habitat, offering visitors a unique opportunity to explore the ecological wonders of the Chesapeake Bay. By restoring this habitat, the exhibit not only improves water quality and attracts native species but also serves as an educational platform, highlighting the importance of #wetland ecosystems. McLaren's #Marine and Structural Engineering teams have played a vital role in this transformative project, applying a multidisciplinary approach that will create a positive impact on both the environment and the community. #Construction is complete on the U.S. Route 1 bridge over the Mamaroneck River in the Town of Mamaroneck, NY! The $115 million modernization of this major community corridor began in 2020 and involved renovating the 129-year-old stone arch #bridge. Enhancements included new pedestrian walkways and traffic signals, improved structural supports for increased durability, better flood resistance, and greater resilience against severe weather.   For this #DesignBuild project, McLaren’s bridge, geomatics, civil, structural, and geotechnical engineering teams provided multidisciplinary services. The Route 1 bridge is part of NYSDOT’s Lower Westchester Bundled Bridges (LWBB) project. For the project, McLaren worked with the contractor Halmar International and collaborated with subconsultants Schnabel Engineering, Prudent Engineering, and Shumaker Consulting Engineering and Land Surveying, D.P.C. to replace #bridges and #culverts at three locations across #WestchesterCounty.  - - Image 1, photo credit New York State

The Great Elephant Migration USA has begun its journey, starting in Newport, RI, and making its way to #NYC in September! This touring #ArtInstallation, featuring over 100 life-size handmade Indian elephant sculptures, aims to increase awareness about migratory animals and encourage coexistence with wildlife. McLaren Engineering Group's Entertainment Division played a crucial role in making this possible. Our team provided stability analysis for the sculptures and supported the Elephant Family organization in generating feasible base anchorage options at all current and future stops of the Elephant Migration. Each #sculpture, a life-size replica of an actual Asian elephant, required diligent and creative engineering to ensure stability across various terrains, including, but not limited to, paved parking lots, grass-covered fields, and sandy beaches. This project not only showcases our technical expertise, but also supports a global initiative to promote human-wildlife coexistence. Follow the herd as it continues its journey across the US, inspiring communities and raising funds to protect migratory animals. Stay tuned as the Great Elephant Migration makes its way across the USA – it may be coming to a city near you soon! 🐘🌏  - - Photos credit: Corey Favino, courtesy Elephant Family and Newport Restoration Foundation #wildlifeconservation
