About us

The Office of Legislative Audits (OLA) serves the Maryland General Assembly and the citizens of Maryland by performing independent, nonpartisan audits of State government agencies and local school systems. These audits assist the Maryland General Assembly in its oversight responsibilities and provide government accountability and transparency. OLA conducts fiscal compliance and performance audits in accordance with professional standards and operates a fraud hotline for reporting fraud, waste, and abuse of State government resources. Our audits lead to meaningful changes in State government operations and save taxpayers millions of dollars. If you’re looking for a career that offers interesting and meaningful work, life-long learning, and a healthy work/life balance, consider joining the OLA team. At OLA you'll benefit from our excellent training programs, be challenged by our high standards of performance, and obtain diverse experience. OLA has a team of over 100 auditors, fraud investigators, and data analysts with professional certifications such as the CPA, CISA, CIA, and CFE. As a member of the OLA team, you'll be part of a professional organization and enjoy working with intelligent and dedicated colleagues who are actively engaged in their work.
