About us
The Office of Legislative Audits (OLA) serves the Maryland General Assembly and the citizens of Maryland by performing independent, nonpartisan audits of State government agencies and local school systems. These audits assist the Maryland General Assembly in its oversight responsibilities and provide government accountability and transparency. OLA conducts fiscal compliance and performance audits in accordance with professional standards and operates a fraud hotline for reporting fraud, waste, and abuse of State government resources. Our audits lead to meaningful changes in State government operations and save taxpayers millions of dollars. Yesterday, OLA Staff Auditors participated in our Audit Evidence Class. This class is one of our in-house curriculum classes that enhances our staff’s ability to effectively evaluate audit evidence to meet standards. Senior Auditor, Nathan Suffin, CPA, MBA is our new class instructor, and he did a fabulous job leading the class!
