Annually, Medical-Surgical Nurses Week is celebrated from November 1-7. Every day, we recognize medical-surgical (med-surg) nurses across HCA Healthcare who work relentlessly to provide our patients with quality care and compassion. Med-surg nursing is one of the most diverse and dynamic specialties, providing exposure to a wide-range of patient populations and medical conditions. For two years, Jennifer Reyes has been a nurse on the med-surg unit at HCA Healthcare’s Medical City Healthcare in Texas. The acute care hospital offers a Level II Trauma Center, a Primary Stroke Center and an accredited Chest Pain Center. As a medical-surgical nurse, Jennifer collaborates with providers and care team members to provide outstanding patient experiences and positive clinical outcomes. “As a fourth-generation nurse, nursing is part of my family,” Jennifer shared. “I want to make someone’s day a little brighter and improve the patients’ care.
