Access to paid leave in the US is disturbingly low—there’s no federal paid leave and only 27% (!) of employees have paid leave from their employers. Many assume that if their employer doesn’t offer any paid leave, they have to choose between taking leave and keeping their job, which is not the case. Although there’s no federal paid leave, there is job-protection under the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and many state Paid Family Leave programs. We envision a world where managing leave is simple for People teams, and where all employees are aware of their options and can easily access the time and pay available to them.
