In the 2010s, consumer fintechs achieved the impossible: they made people love their bank. Today, they’re doing the same with phone plans, with companies like Nubank, Revolut and Wealthsimple leading the way. Here's why analysts predict fintechs will claim a significant share of the $1T+ mobile market: 🚀 Zero CAC: Fintechs already have distribution and don't need to spend millions on marketing. They already have a captive audience that loves them and that can be reached through native marketing channels. 📱 High-quality connectivity, low cost to serve: With Gigs, fintechs can access the leading networks in multiple markets while automating everything from eSIM distribution to customer support. The result is a premium product at minimal cost to serve. 💎 More value for consumers: No more “cheap plans, poor service.” Neobanks can now offer high-speed data, nationwide coverage, flexible plans, unique bundles and tailored offers — all delivered with a seamless user experience ⚡ Test and expand: a small team can launch an MVP in weeks, validate demand, and then scale efficiently. This aligns well with the product development processes fintechs are accustomed to. Click the link below to dive deeper! https://lnkd.in/gb5iRN7R

Everyone loves a big product launch, but sometimes it's the small things that make your software truly exceptional. I recently listened to John Carmack on Lex Friedman discussing the benefits of asserts and static analysis. It struck a chord with me: the quality of a codebase isn’t just about grand architectural decisions—it’s about the small, thoughtful practices that make it a pleasure to work with. In this blog, I discuss how we use asserts in Connect at Gigs to keep our codebase clean and well-structured. I break down why we use them, our methods, and how they help us iterate and ship faster. https://lnkd.in/ev3NH7Uj #typescript #startups #programming

Embedded connectivity is the new embedded payments. When embedded payments emerged in the 2010s, they unleashed a wave of innovation, paving the way for everything from Uber rides to Buy Now Pay Later. Today, we are seeing a similar shift. The world's leading tech companies are integrating mobile services with their platforms, and we’re only just scratching the surface of what this technology can do. My predictions for 2025: ❤️ ❤️🔥  The telecom x fintech love story will heat up: Last year, fintech heavyweights launched travel eSIMs. This year, they will crack the local mobile market. 💻  HR tech will join the game: Employee phone plans expose businesses to major security risks. Leading HRIS platforms will solve this by integrating programmatic eSIMs within their platforms, eliminating the threats posed by SIM swaps, SIM cloning and device theft. ✈️  Roaming will become a value-added service: Travel brands, airlines, and fintechs will continue using integrated eSIMs to add value for users and build platform loyalty, edging out standalone eSIM providers and affiliate/reseller models. A first for US travelers 🇺🇸 🚀    Faye, the leading travel insurance platform, has launched a travel eSIM, powered by Gigs, becoming the first US fintech to combine roaming and travel insurance in one app 📱🛡️   Travelers can now connect to high-speed networks in 190 countries with a tap of the Faye app, avoiding hefty roaming fees, insecure WiFi connections, and the hassle of buying physical SIM cards abroad ✈️   “We’re seeing significant adoption from travelers already, who can now enjoy high-speed data from the moment they land, whether traveling across Europe, Latin America, or Asia,” says Doron Samish, VP of Product at Faye.

Setting aside AI supercomputers and humanoid robotics for one second, here are the hottest innovations in connectivity tech I saw at CES 2025 🌐 OffGrid: HMD’s hotspot device brings ‘signal via satellite’ to the masses. As well as providing peace of mind for the adventurous among us, OffGrid offers a lifeline to ordinary folks when natural disasters take out cell towers. ️ ⌚ Amazfit 2: With brightness and resolution to match the Apple Watch Series 10, precision health tracking, a variety of sports modes, tap-to-pay (in the EU), and a 10-day battery life, this watch punches well above its price tag. 🏃♀️ Samsung Electronics’s health kick: The bulging TV is awesome, but so are Samsung’s latest Galaxy Watch and Galaxy Ring updates, which include AI-powered health tracking. ⚡ Swippitt: 1% battery to full iPhone charge in two seconds! An interesting take on a problem we’ve all faced.
