Municipal Emergency Services, Inc. is the largest distributor of fire fighting and emergency response equipment to fire departments and first responders in the United States. Founded in 2001, MES was originally formed by Tyco International following the acquisition subsequent merger of eight of the longest-established fire distribution and service companies nationally. Collectively these companies represented over 100 years of experience serving first responders. Since 2001 the company has expanded to 17 warehouse and customer service locations strategically located across the United States, including Alaska. With over 185 local sales representatives, 95 mobile service technicians and 15 rescue tool specialists MES has the coverage a customer needs. In 2012 MES acquired Lawmen Supply Company an established leader in law enforcement product sales. MES continues to expand the Lawmen Supply brand into new and existing territories. MES represents 150,000 products from 2,000+ manufacturers, making MES uniquely prepared to meet the needs of the emergency response community 24 hours a day, 365 days per year.

  • MES Announces Marvin Riley Joining as Chief Executive Officer and Tom Hubregsen Transitioning to Executive Chairman Sandy Hook, CT, July 24, 2024 – Municipal Emergency Services (“MES” or the “Company”) announced today that, in connection with a long-planned transition, the MES Board of Directors has selected Marvin Riley to succeed Thomas Hubregsen as the Company’s Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Hubregsen will transition from the role of Chief Executive Officer to the full-time position of Executive Chairman. Mr. Hubregsen and Mr. Riley will continue as members of the MES Board of Directors. "Marvin brings extensive knowledge and exceptional strategic and leadership skills to MES.   • Congratulations to our rockstar Rescue Tool Specialist, Tom Winkler, for receiving the Lifetime Achievement Award from the North American Vehicle Rescue Association (NAVRA) at the National Rescue Challenge in Atlanta, GA! Tom Winkler, retired Division Chief of Special Operations and Training from Seminole, Florida, has been an integral part of Seminole’s Extrication Team for many years, serving as a tool technician, incident commander, and training officer. His team has achieved success in TERC, NAVRA, and WRO circuits since the late 1980s, winning numerous local, state, and national challenges. As a founding member of NAVRA in 2008, Tom currently serves as a lead assessor in NAVRA and WRO challenges. In retirement, he works as a Hurst Jaws of Life Rescue Specialist with MES, leading regional VMR educational events throughout the Southeastern United States. His expertise is highly sought after during the research and development of new rescue tool technology.
