🌍 Looking forward to connecting with industry leaders and innovators at the Real-World Asset Summit in NY next week (Oct 22-23, 2024)! This summit couldn't come at a better time as #tokenization is on the verge of an 𝗲𝘅𝗽𝗹𝗼𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻. The intersection of blockchain and real-world assets (RWAs) is unlocking new efficiencies in financial markets. 🌐 Grateful for the opportunity to work with S&P Global Ratings on #decentralization metrics for the #Ethereum network. This collaboration is crucial as we delve deeper into the intricacies of decentralized systems. 🔍 Important to highlight: Concentration risks significantly impact consensus and the network's operations. Last May, a bug in one of Ethereum's clients resulted in two incidents of loss of finality and the triggering of inactivity leak mode. These events highlight key risk indicators (KRIs) that financial institutions must consider when assessing the risks of digital assets and blockchain platforms.

🚀 I had the pleasure of participating in the panel "The Capital Meets Policy Dialogue: The Voice of the Innovators" at the Point Zero Forum in Zurich. Our discussion centered on AI and the EU AI Act's impact on startups in Europe. Key takeaways: 🇪🇺 The EU AI Act categorizes AI use cases into high and low risk, with exemptions for small companies. However, it poses challenges for both startups and larger companies. 🌍 I shared the view that Europe is lagging behind the US and China in AI innovation and capital allocation but may have a chance to distribute AI's benefits more safely and equitably. My co-panelists pointed out this is why we see fewer IPOs in Europe and, with exceptions like SAP, not many large innovative software companies. 💸 We discussed the cost of AI resources, noting the US has an advantage in access to cheaper AI resources. 🤖 AI's transformative power, especially GenAI, was universally acknowledged.
