#ArtExhibition --> The South Florida Wellness Network, Inc. in collaboration with (NAEMI) NATIONAL ART EXHIBITIONS OF THE MENTALLY ILL INC invites you to their new location and the NAEMI Gallery space, located in the Wynwood Art District at 3408 NW 7th Avenue in Miami, Florida 33127. NAEMI currently presents the exhibition, "Against the Current Outsider Art", an exploration of works created by outsider artists recovering from behavioral health issues. The exhibition is on view August 8th through September 30th, 2024. Image: Misleidys Castillo, CUBA. Misleidys was born with brain, hearing and autistic impediments. She has always lived in her own secluded world, inserted in a familiar environment. Painting with watercolors and pencils has been her great passion since early childhood. Over time, the sketching of muscular male figures with hard facial features has become central to her work. Gradually these figures she colors, cuts and pastes on the wall have acquired a large format – even bigger than the actual human size – and can be looked at as sculptures. https://lnkd.in/dzV2rMPk

Hayes, create your own art that explores the beauty of light and color. Discover and play with shapes and unusual materials that can change and respond to light and merge in interesting ways. #ArtOpening --> Experience the one and only Richard Kurtz: The 1040 & Other Works – Showing at Tears of Venus in Hollywood, California | Friday, September 13th and Saturday, September 14th from 6 – 9pm. The gallery is located at 7527 West Sunset Boulevard in Los Angeles, CA 90046. “Richard Kurtz is a textural adventurer, exploring the surfaces of old bank bags, antique luggage, children’s books — all of it left in his wake stamped with his flat, painterly icons in reds, blacks, and whites: boxing colors, bold and physical. This feisty imagery stands in contrast to the artist’s soft-spoken, meditative personality, making it that much more intriguing.” Tears of Venus Gallery features Contemporary Art, Curated Vintage and Art Wear. Featuring artwork by Richard Kurtz and Emily Esperanza. Vintage clothing from the 1850s to the early 2000s. Select vintage jewelry, textiles, home decor and oddities. One of a kind art wear collaborations by Richard Kurtz X Tears of Venus. Hand embroidered vintage by Jenny Loves Vintage. https://lnkd.in/eDByxHue
