A growing number of community members live, work and play in multiple spaces, thus identifying limitations in the rural/urban binary classification.  MIHF has embraced the geographic categories of metropolitan, micropolitan (or suburban), and rural to more accurately highlight the relationship of people and resources in our communities.  Learn more about how the US Census Bureau and other agencies are tackling the desire for more accurate geographic classification models.
