We are pleased to announce that Milkify is now officially a NEC Society Champion. Necrotizing Enterocolitis (NEC) is inflammation of the intestine, leading to bacterial invasion and severe cellular damage/death. Up to 5% of preterm infants are affected by NEC, with a mortality rate reaching as high as 50%. Tragically, Black infants are 2.5x more likely to die of NEC. The NEC Society is a nonprofit organization dedicated to building a world without NEC through research, advocacy, and education. Champions are industry and nonprofit organizations who support the NEC Society’s vision of a world without NEC. We are committed to helping drive NEC research, education, and advocacy, and are passionate about the work the NEC Society and others are doing to save the lives of medically complex infants.
