We were honored with Air & Space Forces Association's John R. Alison Award at the 2024 Air, Space & Cyber Conference in recognition for the most outstanding contribution by industrial leadership to national defense for our work on the Victus Nox mission. The award was jointly presented by AFA Chair Brig. Gen. Bernie Skoch, USAF (Ret), AFA President & CEO Lt. Gen. Burt Field, USAF (Ret.), Lt. Gen. Shawn Bratton and Gen. Kevin Chilton, USAF (Ret.). Our CEO Dave Machuga accepted the award for Millennium, along with Israel Figueroa accepting for Firefly Aerospace, and Lt Col. Mackenzie Birchenough for Space Systems Command. Victus Nox achieved groundbreaking success by redefining military satellite launch and maneuver operations. The mission set a new benchmark for tactical responsiveness in space to quickly counter adversary threats.

We often talk about our hardware because it’s the most visible part of our work, but did you know that we have a dedicated software team as well? Flight software is a huge part of every spacecraft system design. For example, to keep our satellite charged, the solar panels must stay pointed at the sun. To do that, we write code that interfaces with every single component of the vehicle, connecting them back to the control logic, which governs their behavior. Interested in joining our software team?
