About us

Minnesota Africans United (MAU) is a coalition and statewide organization for all African immigrants’ communities in Minnesota. MAU supports Minnesota’s African Immigrant community with representation from 55 African countries. We act as a connection for the network of African immigrants in Minnesota, and for local African immigrant community organizations, and small businesses. Vision: The vision of Minnesota Africans United (MAU) is to improve the quality of lives of Africans in the State of Minnesota. Mission: Minnesota Africans United (MAU) is serving as the coalition of African immigrants in Minnesota that is centered on closing the opportunity gaps in education, healthcare, the economy, and employment, with the mission of creating awareness and increasing access to resources for African communities. Purpose: The purpose of Minnesota Africans United (MAU) is to unite all Africans and the diaspora community and bring prosperity to all by addressing the following: Closing the opportunity gap (career, education, economy housing, health) Providing small business development opportunities Cultivating and developing leaders within the African community Maintaining cultural traditions and ensuring that they are passed onto the next generation Leveraging its resources to improve Minnesota as a whole. Values: The values of Minnesota African United (MAU): Prosperity for all Peaceful coexistence with Minnesota residents (life without discrimination) Desire to enhance the progress that is shared in Minnesota We share the issues of accountability, transparency and equity, justice, and reforms

This four-session training series will enable the African Diaspora and BIPOC communities to successfully meet the challenges of real estate investment by providing the basic financial knowledge and business strategies for buying, improving, and selling real estate as both a tool for wealth creation and as a career These training sessions will include important information on credit scores, banking, and other mortgage lending practices, and special opportunities in the Minnesota real estate market. You'll also have experienced Minnesota Africans United mentors on hand who are prepared to help you realize your dream of entrepreneurship! Minnesota Africans United, with sponsorship from Best Buy Foundation and the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development, provides a digital technology program offering training and professional mentoring to African youths aged 13 to 21 as a means of preparing them to succeed in their careers, education, business and communities. Join Minnesota Africans United and Ovative in a six session training series where teens can develop critical digital marketing and technology skills.     What an amazing first day of FarmFest! Here are the highlights so far from some of our special MAU guests who are involved in the agricultural sector: Sophie Faumete Sophie Seigning Faumete “I met companies and I narrowed my search and I know what I’m looking for now. It is also nice to see the new machinery.” Anita Fondikum Anita Fondikum “I am happy because I met a bunch of vendors I hope to do business with in the future.” MP Matouke Marie-Paul Matouke “This is the first time I did a trade fair out of my country. I found things I can bring back home.” Emelda Nguma “I was happy to see the agricultural technologies.
