Sean Williamson, MDA's new program director for Command and Control, Battle Management and Communications (C2BMC), was honored at a Senior Executive Service appointment ceremony Oct. 24 at Redstone Arsenal, Alabama. Paraphrasing a former MDA director, Williamson said that missile defense is not a sprint or a marathon, but rather a relay. "The job I'm going into now is exactly that: you take the baton from somebody, you move it as far down the field as you can, and you give it to the next guy," he said, adding that C2BMC was taken from a concept to a prototype capability and, ultimately, globally fielded.
