Despite evidence that #CardiacRehabilitation (CR) can be effective in improving #CardiovascularHealth following a cardiac event, CR is widely underutilized in the U.S. Minnesota Department of Health staff created interactive maps that help identify and address geographic #HealthDisparities in CR utilization using the Million Hearts Outpatient Cardiac Rehabilitation Use Surveillance Methodology. NEW STUDY: MDH and Amherst H. Wilder Foundation released a new study today detailing reasons for the prolonged transfer and discharge delays experienced by mental health and substance use disorder patients seeking hospital care in Minnesota.    Results from the 14-day study of 33 emergency departments and 13 inpatient units at Minnesota hospitals provide insights into the anguish that being held in hospital settings can cause for patients, families, caregivers, and hospital staff by pointing to specific factors such as the lack for next-setting care for mental health and addiction services.  Read the report for more information on the study, its results, and opportunities for improvement at https://lnkd.in/d3zEKFPi
