She is the President and Clinical Director of Mobile Therapy Group, LLC. She is a graduate of Boston University, Sargent College of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences. Cynthia has extensive experience across various healthcare settings, including acute care, rehabilitation, home care, skilled nursing facilities and outpatient upper extremity therapy. Since earning her Certification in Hand Therapy in 2010, Cynthia has demonstrated expertise and commitment in her field. Her entrepreneurial spirit led her to establish HandHealth, a boutique Hand Therapy clinic in Newport, New Hampshire, which she ultimately sold to a Dartmouth Hospital-affiliated facility in Claremont, NH, in 2015. In response to the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, Cynthia founded Mobile Therapy Group in West Palm Beach, Florida. Under her leadership, the company has experienced remarkable growth, expanding from a single mobile hand therapist to a team of 15 Physical and Occupational Therapists within four years. MTG has two clinic locations for hand therapy in West Palm Beach and Coral Springs, FL and covers a territory of 2,000 square miles providing mobile physical and occupational therapy. Cynthia is married, the proud parents to three adult children and eagerly anticipates the arrival of their first grandchild. They enjoy their beloved rescue dog, Teddy. Her personal interests include jogging (albeit at a leisurely pace), hiking, boot camp workouts, reading, and participating in book groups. Above all, she cherishes spending quality time with her family and friends.

Happy International Left Handers Day! Did you know that only 10-12% of the population is left-handed?! That is pretty rare and pretty cool super power! 💥 I have 4 left-handers in my family! My mother-in-law, father, brother and my great niece!! Here are three cool facts about being left-handed! 🙌🤘🏾👏🏼 1.) Humans are the only animal to have a preference over which hand they use. Most animals use both hands in a 50-50 split. 🐒 👍🏼 2.) If both parent’s are left-handed then there is a 1 in 4 chance the child will be left-handed too. 🙌🏾 3.) There are several steps involved in making a custom splint. 👍🏼 1) make a pattern using paper towel. This is actually done with the patient’s hand on the table, but I did not take a picture of that part. 2) trace the pattern onto your splinting material. The choice of splinting material is very important because each respond to heat in different ways. With experience we learn which material works best for which kind of splint. 3) Heat up the material in a large electric fry pan or splinting heat pan 4) mold on the patient’s hand being careful to avoid bony landmarks and areas of pressure. 5) if we need the splint to help mobilize fingers, then we can attach dynamic or static bands or strapping, depending on the needs of the patient and the goals of the splint. Today is day three of Hand Therapy Week! 🤲🏽 At MTG, we love to help people get back to baseline in their hands, using their brains!🙌🧠 In this video, on the left, the individual is seen bypassing the use of his index finger in fine motor activity, a common occurrence with injuries. The brain begins to process how to get things done without using the injured finger. On the right, you can see a simple intervention we use as hand therapists. The idea is to buddy tape the index finger to the middle finger.
