About us

The Montgomery Volunteer Lawyers Program (MVLP) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization led to assist low-income individuals in the Montgomery County area. Our mission is to provide access to justice and quality free legal assistance through the use of our volunteer attorneys. In order to qualify for our services, client household income must be within 200% of federal property guidelines. The MVLP assists qualifying clients with civil legal matters including but not limited to bankruptcy, eviction, collection, uncontested divorce, and probate. We do not accept fee-generating cases or criminal matters. The MVLP holds regularly scheduled legal clinics on the first and third Tuesday of every month at Flatline Church and the second Thursday of every month at Strong Tower at Washington Park. Clients seeking legal assistance may speak with a volunteer attorney on site. Flatline Clinics are located at 2938 Lower Wetumpka Road, and Strong Tower Clinics are located at 2840 Boys Club Road. As stated previously, the MVLP provides legal services through the use of volunteer attorneys in the community. Volunteer attorneys who provide their time can qualify for CLE credit by regularly attending legal clinics or taking cases for extended representation. Volunteering through our program is a great networking and learning opportunity for all attorneys. New volunteers may contact our Volunteer Coordinator at 334-265-0222 ext. 2.
