Ringling College of Art and Design's forthcoming Signature Academic Building, sited on a location that was formerly a gas station, reflects the creativity and innovation of the students it will serve.   This project aims to set a new standard for sustainable and creative academic environments. Inspired by the flowing shape of a coiling film strip, this four-story building will serve as a gateway to the Sarasota, Florida campus, offering cutting-edge spaces for digital arts, game design, and virtual reality. As part of expanding their knowledge of design and delivery, our Chicago studio team recently toured the headquarters of lighting manufacturer, Focal Point, LLC. They explored the firm’s history, product manufacturing, and took a more in-depth look into lighting design, while also gaining insight into how their design specifications impact the final product.  This hands-on experience is crucial for integrating knowledge across disciplines.   When looking at design, Marcus Myerholtz noted that “it’s important to know and understand the role that our decisions play from pre-design to closeout, and especially how other disciplines contribute to our success as a team.”   We couldn’t have said it better. #MoodyNolanChicago #ImprovingLivesThroughDesign

We want to congratulate Hannah Evwaraye, AIA NCARB, on receiving the AIA Ohio Foundation Charles J. Marr Award! Hannah is a project architect in our Moody Nolan Columbus studio and serves as the 2024 AIA Columbus President. She recently presented at the 2024 AIA’s Women’s Leadership Summit (WLS) in Chicago. The Charles J. Marr Award acknowledges people who have shown a strong commitment to the architecture profession. The award was created in honor of the contributions made by the late Charles J. Marr, FAIA, who founded the AIA Ohio Foundation. The AIA Ohio Foundation focuses on advancing architectural education and public awareness of architecture in Ohio. The foundation's resources go towards educational materials, programs, and scholarships for Ohio students and Ohio-based schools of architecture. And the Athletic Business’ Facilities of Merit Award goes to… the Nashville Soccer Club Training Facility! We are honored to be recognized for our work on Major League Soccer (MLS)’s Nashville SC facility, which is now award-winning. With more than one judge describing the facility as “elegant,” we were excited to see how the vision for integrating sports design with sophistication did not go unnoticed. The facility is designed to guide players through their training journey with a sequence of spaces that align with their daily routines. A secluded team-only entrance provides players with immediate access to sports medicine, hydrotherapy, and dedicated areas for strength and conditioning. Social spaces are woven into the facility including a players’ lounge and an expansive communal dining commons featuring a wrap-around outdoor terrace.
