Meet Lucy, a beloved MorningStar Holly Park resident and Olympic athlete! Growing up in Colorado Springs, Lucy started figure skating at eleven. By college, she was competing in the 1956 Winter Olympics in Italy. Initially a singles skater, she switched to pairs at twelve but returned to singles in college, eventually resuming pairs and placing second in the National Senior Pairs in 1955, qualifying for the Olympics. Juggling school and cheerleading, Lucy's dedication to skating was supported by her accommodating school. Her love for jumping, sparked by childhood "Jumping Shoes," fueled her passion for the sport. Lucy's Olympic highlight? Walking in the parade, inspired by children's dreams of competing.
