Can concerts and festivals truly achieve zero-waste? Join us online October 15 @10am PT in "The Green Room" for a discussion with innovators leading the way, moderated by Joel Makower. RSVP - https://lu.ma/po4ha5wv Panelists include: Crystal Dreisbach Upstream, Jonah Geschwind Green Disco , Mary McCarthy Levy Restaurants, Meghan Tierney AEG The mountains of trash produced at concerts and festivals have long been a sore spot for the industry. Whose responsibility is it to make the changes needed? Solutions are out there and becoming increasingly cost-competitive, creating new opportunities for artists, venues, and promoters to reduce or eliminate waste while engaging and educating fans. Making these changes isn’t easy, and can require new vendors, contractual arrangements and training of both staff and fans. #musicindustry #sustainability #greenmusicindustry #circulareconomy #waste #refuse #reduce #reuse #recycle

So exciting, congrats to A Greener Future and all involved. Thanks #MassiveAttack for leading the way! Have a blast tomorrow!
The great green event experiment. Great to chat with the #BBC about #MassiveAttack Act 1.5 Climate Action Accelerator on the Bristol Downs this weekend. 20 years after A Greener Future (AGF) began it's great to see the seriousness and advancement in green events. The technology is here. Mainstream and event production culture are catching up. This show is a testament to what is possible when people work together with purpose and think big. Special service trains from Great Western Railway (GWR), free electric buses from Zenobē, no car park and incentives for green travel. The whole site is powered by batteries which have been charged offsite by the wind and sun by Ecotricity, including our Grid Faeries 3MWh #battery entirely powering the main stage! Electric Volta Trucks circulating to recharge #batteries where needed on site. 100% #plantbased food for audience, crew and artists. Nutrient capture from poo and wee with Compoost Toilets Ltd and PEEQUAL... and 100% compostable serveware being fully composted with food waste to make soil enhancer with Envar Composting Limited... to name just a few. It feels like we're finally at a positive tipping point, be it at the 11th hour. The experiment will unfold this Sunday and fingers crossed that it all goes to plan! The results and learnings are being meticulously monitored, collected and analysed by the AGF team and then back to where it all began with Act 1.5's collaboration with the Tyndall Centre for Climate Change Research. The fact that this is all happening in the background to present powerful purposeful music and art is perfect. Thank you to Massive Attack and Act 1.5 (shout out Mark Donne) for inviting us to be a part of this exciting adventure, and big up to AGF's Jamal Chalabi (MA's TM!), Eloise Clarke and Alex Fintoni for all of their hard work on this so far. Massive respect to all of the teams who are stepping outside of their comfort zones to push boundaries. Wish us luck... and hope to see many of you there. Otherwise see you on the other side. This is just the beginning.
