“Some of the earliest applications for mycelium in space could look more like interior design than hard science.” DAZED Magazine spotlights the current research into mycelium for space habitation, and spoke with MycoWorks Creative Director Xavier Gallego at our Mycelium Muse design exhibition in Paris: Each time a scientist finds a solution for the extreme environments of outer space, they tend to reveal some more down-to-Earth applications in the process. “A few years ago, only mycologists and a few biologists were into mycelium … [Now] we’re very close to a world where you own things made of mycelium, and that’s normal.” says Xevi. ”How many times can you truly introduce a new material to the world? It’s very rare.” — Read DAZED’s fascinating article on NASA research into mycelium for space exploration: https://lnkd.in/gXi_zxTn

“It’s very fun, finding brands and designers who want to collaborate on something new that we couldn't create years ago. We speak the same language. We come from the same world.” MycoWorks Creative Director Xavier Gallego spoke with Four Bent Corners about seeking the kind of inspiring creative collaborations that expand the design possibilities of Reishi™ 📺 Watch the full episode of The Corner podcast: https://lnkd.in/gtXXBMp3

Wonderful to have MycoWorks investor Natalie Portman tour our Mycelium Muse exhibition at Design Miami Paris! Together with Paragone, we introduced a unique collection of interior design objects made with Reishi™ that represent the creative possibilities of our Fine Mycelium™ materials platform. Natalie Portman spoke about Reishi™ and the demand for high quality, sustainable materials at LVMH Life 360 at UNESCO: “I invest in a company called MycoWorks. It’s very exciting to me to imagine that there could be a sustainable, beautiful material that of course replaces something [animal leather] I don’t use in my personal life … When they don’t have a difference in the quality of the material, the luxury feeling of it, or the price, and it’s ethical, [consumers] are happy to switch over.” See more at myceliummuse.com.

Forbes at Mycelium Muse: ”An eye-catching booth at Design Miami Paris was Mycelium Muse presented by MycoWorks and realizing the vision of seven women artists and designers creating interior design with a sustainable new material called Reishi™. Xavier Gallego, Creative Director of Mycoworks, told me: ‘Mycelium Muse is an epic achievement for Reishi™ in design. And it's a moment when our most unique sheets shine. For these artists, the variations and irregularities of some of our sheets have become expressive entry points for exploring the mysteries of mycelium through design and art.’” See more: https://lnkd.in/g_ZkgQAn

Architectural Digest at Mycelium Muse: “Among the seven designers, let us mention the architect and cabinetmaker, Anna le Corno. The organic and taut forms of her Undergrowth desk are inspired by roughly cut logs. Le Corno aka FAROUCHE paris combines two natural materials, Reishi™ and myrtle burl, whose imperfections and accidents inherent in their development make it all the more beautiful.” See more: https://lnkd.in/gNVxutMz

After nearly a decade in the making, Populus is now open. We created Populus to be a catalyst for change – an innovative way for our industry to address the urgency of climate change, while allowing us to connect more deeply with nature and each other. Today, Populus opens its doors, marking a new chapter for this visionary project that puts our unwavering commitment to sustainable hospitality at the forefront of conversation. Unlike anything Denver has ever seen, Populus welcomes guests with skyline-defining architecture by Studio Gang, immersive interiors and art, and inspired culinary delights at Pasque and Stellar Jay. And, we’re planting a tree for every night’s stay – helping to better our planet in a tangible way. It has taken a dedicated, passionate, and innovate village to get here. We couldn’t be prouder of our team and our partners for bringing this vision to life. Welcome to Populus – we hope to see you there! #UrbanVillages 📷: Jason O'Rear 📷: Yoshihiro Makino

Congratulations to the MycoWorks team on today's opening of their stunning 'Mycelium Muse' exhibit at Design Miami Paris. It's great to see the creative discovery of an entirely new material like Reishi being worked by artisans. For me, it is a beautiful natural textural partner to the burled wood in Anna Le Corno 's desk... #biomaterials #thefutureofluxury #mycelium
