I had a great time on Ben Fanning 's Lead the Team podcast discussing MycoWorks and my journey. I particularly enjoyed highlighting my incredible team in Union accomplishing our mission at MycoWorks of growing the future of materials. I'm lucky to work at a company with people with tremendous courage. We have an entire company of people who buck norms and are passionate about our mission. Our whole company strives to empower individual voices and inspire the courage to bring new ideas forward. Before MycoWorks, I had a long career in manufacturing, going from factory floor to C-suite. Most impactful to my career path were the lessons I learned from my peers and colleagues in breakrooms and picnic tables in those early days: People are problem solvers: everyone comes to work everyday trying to solve problems. Everyone at every level has key pieces to the puzzle to drive an efficient and successful corporation. An engaged workforce is the key to success: There are always barriers in a system, but an engaged workforce that is courageous to speak up and listened to when doing so can drive tremendous change. Leaders need to empower individual voices: To make a system run better, faster and stronger it's important to empower the voices on the manufacturing line doing the work s they can point out flaws and offer solutions from their point of view. At the unveiling of Cadillac's SOLLEI concept vehicle, the first automobile to incorporate a mycelium bio-based material developed in collaboration with General Motors. The forward-looking concept convertible was unveiled at Cadillac House at Vanderbilt, the state-of-the-art facility at GM’s Global Technical Center campus in Warren, Michigan. Used in the charging mats on the console and the door map pockets, the Fine Mycelium™ material reflects Cadillac’s mission to pioneer renewable automotive resources.
