Great insights from Nir Eyal on achieving quality sleep! It turns out, many of us are stuck in a cycle of sleeplessness, mainly because we can’t stop worrying. Sound familiar? He reminds us that instead of chasing quick fixes, we should embrace some simple smart strategies: 1. Embrace wakefulness: If you wake up at night, it’s normal–don't stress about it! 2. Stick to a bedtime: Go to bed at the same time each night to help your body find its rhythm. 3. Distract yourself: Grab a boring book if you can’t sleep. It shifts your focus without simulating you. 4. Use calming mantras: Repeat phrases like, “The body gets what it needs if you let it,” to ease anxiety. 5. Track your sleep: A sleep tracker can help you see how much rest you’re really getting. Give these a try and enjoy some well-deserved Z’s! Remember, prioritizing good sleep is essential for your overall well-being, helping you feel more focused and resilient during your busy days. Sweet dreams! 😴 #Sleep #Wellness #MentalFitness

Do you know that feeling when you tell a little white lie and suddenly you feel like you’re juggling flaming torches? Here at MYNDY, we believe that the truth will set you free. Seriously! One study found that lying increases our cognitive load, which negatively impacts our mental performance¹. What we’ve learned is that even small untruths may lead us down a path where we normalize lying to a point where we no longer recognize what we're doing, and this can have serious consequences in high-stakes moments when recognizing the truth is absolutely crucial. Lying triggers our body's stress response, leading to increased levels of cortisol, adversely affecting our mental health²; it makes us feel shame³ and significantly erodes our relationships with others⁴. So in order to optimize your mental fitness, let’s make a pact: avoid lying at all costs! Your mind (and the people around you) will thank you. #MYNDY #MentalFitness #CognitiveLoad #Honesty ¹ Vrij et al., 2008 ² Kassin & Fong, 1999 ³ DePaulo et al., 2003 ⁴ Horne & Powell, 2016
