NAES invests in workplace safety training with organizations like the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) to not only gain a competitive edge in the industry but, more importantly, to live up to the company’s core values by preparing our workforce with superior training and protection. Ferndale Generating Station Earns Recertification for Outstanding Safety Culture Congratulations to Puget Sound Energy's Ferndale Generating Station for earning the official OSHA recertification for Voluntary Protection Programs (VPP) STAR status. The NAES–operated plant earned this accomplishment because everyone involved creates and maintains an outstanding safety culture in everything they do. The program sets performance-based criteria for a managed safety and health system, and verification includes a rigorous onsite evaluation by a team of OSHA safety and health experts. Congratulations to PSE’s Director of Generation & Natural Gas Storage, Mark Carlson, and the entire NAES team for keeping safety priority #1.
