In our new blog, Luciano Pietro Cordaro,  EthosEnergy’s Systems Global Chief Engineer, shares his unique perspective on the journey of a multidisciplinary project engineer and the unexpected path his career has taken. From working as a Noise Specialist to delivering multimillion-dollar projects in South America, Luciano’s journey is far from ordinary. His ability to communicate and get the best out of people has driven his success, particularly in challenging projects like rehabilitating and upgrading gas and steam turbine at our Torino facility. Despite his accomplishments, Luciano’s view on “failure” offers valuable lessons. He believes that setting and sometimes missing targets can still lead to building something valuable. ✈️ Aero engine fuel nozzles play a vital role in the safe and reliable operation of modern aero engines. Air blast, pressure atomizing and direct injection technologies ensure turbine engine performance is optimized to improve efficiency and reduce emissions. While renewable energy investment is growing, natural gas-fired generation still makes up over 22% globally and nearly 40% in the US, up from 32% five years ago. Despite the rise of renewables, reliance on gas turbines is increasing as coal and nuclear decline. This shift challenges the industry, with aging units being pushed beyond their original design lives amid limited investment in natural gas.      Life extension via rotor replacement is routinely the most attractive option at the end of rotor life despite it being a significant capital investment—in large part, this is because it requires the least amount of downtime if planned carefully.
