Commercialization of silicon-perovskite tandem PV is a game changer towards the realization of the next generation of high efficiency solar! Congratulations to the Oxford PV team on this major accomplishement! As a developer and manufacturer of innovative and high-quality materials for perovskite PV applications, Nano-C, Inc. is excited to see commercialization underway of this revolutionary technology. #solar #renewableenergy #pv
🚀 A major milestone towards an all-electric world! 🚀 Oxford PV is proud to announce that its innovative solar technology is officially entering commercial use in the U.S. - with the world’s first commercial sale of our next-generation perovskite tandem solar panels. Our 72-cell panels are setting a new standard, generating 20% more energy than traditional silicon solar panels. This is a game-changer for utility-scale installations, reducing the levelized cost of electricity (LCOE) and maximizing land use efficiency by producing more electricity from the same area. ⚡ This breakthrough marks a turning point in clean energy progress, helping to power the transition towards a fully electric and decarbonized future. 🌍 As David Ward, our CEO, said: “The future of the solar industry is here, and high-efficiency technologies like perovskites are leading the way.” We look forward to expanding production and delivering even more solar for a sustainable future! 🌱 Learn more about this historic milestone the comments! ⤵ #CleanEnergy #SolarPower #EnergyInnovation #Perovskite #OxfordPV #SolarTechnology #Sustainability #EnergyTransition

KAUST reveals details of 33.7%-efficient perovskite-silicon tandem solar cell: In a new scientific paper, researchers from the King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) in Saudi Arabia presented the 33.7%-efficient perovskite-silicon tandem solar cell announced in May last year. They explained the device is based on a perovskite additive known as tetrahydrotriazinium that reportedly enhances the phase stability of the perovskite film under heat and light conditions. #Renewables #Energy #Technology

Continued innovation and validation of #perovskite solar cells from Erkan Aydin at KAUST (King Abdullah University of Science and Technology) and collaborators. Nano-C scientists have been involved in work contributing to a better understanding of the vapor-deposition of C60 fullerenes, critical for the scale-up of silicon-Perovskite tandem PV. These materials are available today at industrial scale. Please contact us for more information. #perovskite #fullerenes #photovoltaics #gen3solar
Our latest research on #perovskite -based solar cells is now available as an open-access article in Nature Communications! For all fellow researchers in academia and industry working in this field, this might pique your interest. In collaboration with my colleague Ahmed Ali Said, we encountered a noteworthy issue – a gradual drop in performance during the thermal evaporation of fullerene in multiple repeated batches (which is likely observed by many researchers in the field). We investigated the problem from a materials chemistry perspective and pinpointed oxygen in commercial powders as the culprit behind this performance change. The breakthrough? We teamed up with Barry Rand's team at Princeton to develop the vacuum thermal gradient sublimation method, providing a solution to this challenge. Additionally, we worked with Henning Richter and Ed Jackson from Nano-C for close collaboration in identifying and addressing the issue. For those interested, Nano-C is geared up to supply this material. For academic groups, worried about not having the sublimed C60? No problem! The impact surfaces during the heating and cooling of the powder source, and altering the material in each batch can mitigate this effect. We strongly believe that our findings contribute significantly to the industrial processes of perovskite-based solar cells, whether in single-junction or tandem forms. For more in-depth details, feel free to check out the article for free access through this link or contact us [https://lnkd.in/dukpHbW5] I would like to thanks also the KPV-Lab team, Ledinsky Martin's team, Ilhan Yavuz, and Caner Deger for their support in understanding the rationale. #PerovskiteSolarCells #MaterialsChemistry #Fullerene #Photovoltaics
