About us
The mission of the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM) is to be the voice for all manufacturing in the United States. The NAM is the largest manufacturing association in the United States, representing small and large manufacturers in every sector and in all 50 states. Manufacturing employs more than 12.8 million men and women, contributes $2.38 trillion to the U.S. economy annually, has the largest economic multiplier of any major sector and accounts for 64 percent of all private-sector research and development in the nation. We inform legislators, the Administration, the media, policy influencers and the public about manufacturing’s vital leadership in innovation, job opportunity, technological progress and economic security. We are a respected and focused partner in achieving an economic environment that encourages the expansion of manufacturing in the United States and strengthens our global leadership. Follow us for regular updates about manufacturing industry news, blog posts on breaking news, upcoming NAM events, and more. At every turn, we are working on behalf of manufacturers in America to advance policies that help manufacturers do what they do best: create economic strength and jobs.

Manufacturers welcome the announcement of final guidance on the 45X Advanced Manufacturing Production Credit and appreciate the improvements that support manufacturing in the U.S. In particular, including critical mineral extraction and materials costs in the credit calculation will help bolster supply chain resiliency throughout the manufacturing sector. This tax credit will help manufacturers build a strong and sustainable domestic advanced manufacturing supply chain—from mining to processing to final product assembly.

The Route 250 Diner is about more than just what’s happening this week in Circleville—it’s about setting the stage for how industries and communities can come together to shape America’s future. At the heart of this proof of concept is a message: manufacturers, creators and communities all play essential roles in writing the next chapter of America’s story. This isn’t just a celebration—it’s a model, showing how civic pride, community service, simple acts of kindness, and the power of industry can renew belief in the American Dream. Thursday's grand opening made that vision clear. Business, non-profit and community leaders—and some of Circleville’s most dedicated volunteers—joined us to officially open the Route 250 Diner. Having the U.S. Semiquincentennial Commission (America250) with us, represented by Interim Executive Director Jennifer Condon, and the team from Stand Together Trust and the Bill of Rights Institute underscores how significant this initiative is in the lead-up to America’s 250th anniversary in 2026. And with Ryan Augsburger, president of The Ohio Manufacturers' Association, standing alongside us, it was a powerful reminder that Ohio’s manufacturing community will be leading the way as well. As we prepare for #America250, the lessons we gather here will guide us to help the America 250 movement and grow our impact—showing what’s possible when communities, businesses and individuals come together with a shared purpose.
