We champion fairness in banking, housing and business.
About us
The National Community Reinvestment Coalition and its grassroots member organizations create opportunities for people to build wealth. We work with community leaders, policymakers and financial institutions to champion fairness in banking, housing and business. NCRC was formed in 1990 by national, regional, and local organizations to develop and harness the collective energies of community reinvestment organizations from across the country so as to increase the flow of private capital into traditionally underserved communities. NCRC has grown to an association of more than 600 community-based organizations that promote access to basic banking services including credit and savings, to create and sustain affordable housing, job development and vibrant communities for America's working families. Our members include community reinvestment organizations, community development corporations; local and state government agencies; faith-based institutions; community organizing and civil rights groups; minority and women-owned business associations as well as local and social service providers from across the nation. "If credit unions want to operate like banks, then they should be regulated like banks. If the rationale for omitting deposit-takers from CRA was that they were not designed to serve whole communities, then the fact that they now do serve vast nonspecialized audiences means it's time to bring them into the tent." - Jesse Van Tol https://hubs.ly/Q02WlYvr0

Honored to join Jesse Van Tol representing the National Community Reinvestment Coalition - NCRC with other community leaders at TD’s first community advisory board. I’m looking forward to the partnership and learning more about TD’s commitment to be the better bank for their customers, colleagues, and community. Special shout out to Erin Smith, She/Her and Danielle Genantonio for pulling it all together.

We are excited to recognize the release of the U.S. Department of the Treasury. Years in the making, with the input and support of a broad cross-section of leaders, this strategy is an important step in ensuring a robust and inclusive financial system for all people in America. This strategy will help families and businesses achieve short-term stability and build long-term financial security. We at NCRC are proud to have played a role in bringing this strategy to life, alongside our partners in the Working Group on Inclusive Finance convened by The Aspen Institute Financial Security Program. We look forward to continuing this important work to achieve an inclusive financial system for everyone. https://hubs.ly/Q02Wc4q50

If Californians vote to approve a rent control measure on the ballot, thousands of Berkeley tenants could immediately see new limits on how much their landlords can raise their rent each year. via CalMatters https://hubs.ly/Q02WbT870
