  • ⚓WELCOME! NSWCDD leadership welcome Matthew Smolnik, who took the helm as King George County Administrator in June. Dale Sisson Jr., P.E., SES, highlighted the division’s $2.5 billion portfolio broken down by technical departments. King George is the largest segment of the NSWCDD workforce which comprises more than 5,000 government employees and 4,500 contractors. During his visit, Smolnik learned about our Technology Office and the Potomac Tech Bridge, which fosters partnerships and innovation to advance technology for the fleet. His tour included stops at the Range Operations Center at the Potomac River Test Range— the only open water test range in the U.S. — where he gained insights into range testing and our community outreach efforts. He also visited the High Power Electromagnetic Environmental Effects Anechoic Chamber, where we test weapon systems for our warfighters. Another highlight of the day was visiting the Middle School Innovation Challenge Teacher Training to meet teachers programming robots for the competition Nov. 9. King George High School is the champion of the third annual High School Innovation Challenge @ Dahlgren that was held in March. We look forward to future collaboration with King George County! #innovation #NSWCDD #usnavy #navy #technology King George County Government Dale Sisson, P.E.
