About us
NORTHWEST ARKANSAS CHAPTER #384 of the National Association of Women in Construction ::HISTORY OF NAWIC:: The National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) originally began as Women in Construction of Fort Worth, Texas. Sixteen women working in the construction industry founded it in 1953. Knowing that women represented only a small fraction of the construction industry, the founders organized NAWIC to create a support network. Women in Construction of Fort Worth was so successful that it gained its national charter in 1955 and became the National Association of Women in Construction. Today, NAWIC provides its members with opportunities for professional development, education, networking, leadership training, public service and more. ::CHAPTER PURPOSE:: Our chapter brings women in the Northwest Arkansas construction industry together through monthly meetings and providing training and volunteering opportunities. ::MEANS OF CONTACT:: EMAIL NWAChapterNAWIC@gmail.com FACEBOOK facebook.com/NAWICNorthwestAR INSTAGRAM instagram.com/NAWICNorthwestAR WEBSITE

Meet Director of Membership Jayden Putman! Jayden is with Hartley Commercial and currently serves as the Director of Membership for NAWIC NWA! Her favorite part of being in the construction industry, especially in flooring and painting, is admiring the final result of a completed project. One of her top highlights? The Taco and Tamale restaurant in Fayetteville! 🌮 Jayden joined NAWIC because she wanted to be an active part of the Northwest Arkansas construction community. She loves how NAWIC creates opportunities to connect with others, learn about different roles, and foster a supportive environment for women in this male-dominated field. Her advice to her younger self? “It’s okay not to have everything figured out right away. Life has a funny way of leading you to the right place, even if you don’t expect it. I never imagined I’d be in commercial construction, but now I can see a lifelong career in this industry.” Fun fact: Jayden loves to sing and is a proud member of the Symphony of Northwest Arkansas (SoNA) Singers! #NAWIC #WomenInConstruction #Leadership

Meet Board President Cori Wilson! Cori is a Project Manager at Crossland Construction Company, Inc. Construction and the current President of NAWIC NWA! She’s passionate about the construction industry and loves being part of a community where brilliant minds come together to design, develop, and BUILD amazing projects. Cori’s journey in the construction world has been life-changing, and through NAWIC, she’s committed to helping other women have the same positive experience. She believes that by connecting, supporting one another, and building a strong community, we can overcome the unique challenges women face in this industry. Her advice to her younger self? “Give yourself grace to learn and grow. With time, you’ll gain the knowledge and experience to handle any problem you face.” Fun fact: Cori’s an Air Force brat! Born in England, she moved around the U.S. during her childhood, memorizing new phone numbers with her sisters for fun! #NAWIC #WomenInConstruction #Leadership
