About us
The National Coalition for Homeless Veterans (NCHV) — a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization governed by a 23-member board of directors — is the resource and technical assistance center for a national network of community-based service providers and local, state and federal agencies that provide emergency and supportive housing, food, health services, job training and placement assistance, legal aid and case management support for hundreds of thousands of homeless veterans each year. NCHV also serves as the primary liaison between the nation’s care providers, Congress and the executive branch agencies charged with helping them succeed in their work. NCHV’s advocacy has strengthened and increased funding for virtually every federal homeless veteran assistance program in existence today. NCHV's Technical Assistance and Training Center provides guidance and information about program development, administration, governance and funding to all of the nation’s homeless veteran service providers.

CEO WVI Foundation, Advisory Board Member Northwest FCU, USO Board of Governors (Presidential Appointee)
I am deeply saddened to hear about the passing of John Driscoll, the former President of the NATIONAL COALITION FOR HOMELESS VETERANS. John was a passionate advocate for ending homelessness among veterans and was one of the earliest supporters of my work in the non-profit sector. In 2009, I organized a Veterans Round Table in Annapolis, MD, with the assistance of my amazing friend, then-Delegate Justin Ross. I reached out to John for guidance because I felt clueless about what I was doing, but I knew it had to be done. Nevertheless, John stood by me and provided invaluable support, embodying the kind of person he was and his love for his fellow veterans in need. In 2011, I had the honor of working alongside John at a Senate Press Conference, thanks to the incredible assistance of my friend Kathryn Monet. who was then working for Senator Murray and now serves as the CEO of the National Coalition of Homeless Veterans. Just amazing! Rest in peace, John. You will never be forgotten, and thank you for everything! #homelessveterans #womenveterans #NCHV #rip #girlonfire

On Independence Day, we celebrate our country and honor those who have served to uphold its values. Yet, many of our nation's veterans face homelessness due to housing affordability issues and recent legal challenges. As of January 2023, over 35,000 veterans experienced homelessness, with a troubling increase in unsheltered situations. This July 4th, let's stand together to ensure every veteran has a safe, affordable place to call home. Your support has been crucial in our mission to provide immediate housing solutions and expand vital programs. Join us in honoring their service by donating today. Together, we can make a difference and uphold the values our veterans fought to defend. 🇺🇸 #July4th #SupportOurVeterans #EndVeteranHomelessness #NCHV https://buff.ly/2zHMnBc

We are disappointed by today's ruling. This ruling will empower communities across the country to continue to fine, imprison, and banish their neighbors for poverty. Today’s ruling makes it even more urgent that America focus on and invest in solutions that ensure veterans and their neighbors have access to proven solutions like housing and associated supports.
