🧑🏫 Join AML in Research Triangle Park on November 20-21 for its Strategic Planning for Small Towns: A Two-Day NCLM Workshop! Through this two-day NCLM facilitated workshop, you will not only learn about the benefits and best practices of strategic planning – you will actually develop a strategic plan that you can implement in your town! Designed for towns under 10,000 population, this workshop invites municipal governing boards to create a 3-to-5-year, forward-looking plan for their communities. (At least three members of a municipality must attend.) League staff will review the benefits of a strategic plan for your town and then lead you through comprehensive exercises to develop your own plan. This exercise uses a League-developed template to assist each town select major strategic focus areas, objectives, and action items for a 3-to-5-year planning period. Register here:

🧑🏫 Join AML in Martin County on November 14th for its double-header event which will include two educational sessions: https://buff.ly/4eoxwtN Ethics for Municipal Staff: ethical conduct is critical to the legal, efficient and effective operation of a municipality, and it is required of the entire town government -- not just elected officials. This course explores those characteristics of municipal work and provides guidance and best practices to staff members on how to act ethically and legally on behalf of the municipality. Excellence in Municipal Customer Service: this training will explore ways to serve the customers of local government – the citizens – in the best way possible. $65 each or $115 for both. There will be a morning and afternoon course. Lunch is complimentary.

There is one more week left to submit session proposals and ideas for NCLM’s annual conference, CityVision, taking place April 29 – May 1, 2025, in Greenville! Each year, CityVision sessions cover the most pressing issues facing our cities and towns and provide guidance, training, education and best practices on how to lead our ever-changing communities. Topics cover a wide spectrum, from housing to infrastructure to leadership and civility. This is an opportunity to help develop that programming.  Through October 31, NCLM is accepting submissions for sessions and presenters.
