I have finally had time to reflect on an amazing NC Local Government Budget Association (NCLGBA) conference last week in Beaufort, NC. We had wonderful speakers including Jamie Valvano and had plenty of fun with budget Olympics and boat rides. (Thanks Captain Elton Daniels). What an incredible NC Local Government Budget Association (NCLGBA) summer conference! Great sessions, great people and a new slate of rock star board members. I’m honored to be one of them. I am honored to be elected to the NC Local Government Budget Association (NCLGBA) board. NCLGBA has been a pivotal part of my professional career, and I look forward to serving with a great group of budget professionals.

This week I had the absolute pleasure of moderating a session on G.O. Bonds with speakers Sharon Edmundson, MPA, CPA and Matt Evans, MPA, CLGBO for the NC Local Government Budget Association (NCLGBA) Summer Conference. Matt and Sharon did a fantastic job engaging the audience by providing insightful and practical information. This was my third time moderating a session and I'm grateful that each session has given me the opportunity to learn from and work with experts across that state in both the private and public sectors.

The final day of our Summer 2024 conference in Beaufort, NC ended on a high note with some classic sessions, fun, and great news! 🏛️ Legislative Update with Denise H. of North Carolina Association of County Commissioners, and Chris Nida of NC League of Municipalities 📈 Economic Update with Dr. Mouhcine Guettabi of University of North Carolina Wilmington 🥇Members repping their favorite sports teams to celebrate the Olympics 🎓 Announcing that our latest conference raffle which funds student scholarships and provides the winner with some cool swag raised $1,900, far exceeding our goal!
