NPHS builds stronger communities by creating innovative housing and economic solutions to advance the well-being of people, vitality of neighborhoods, creation of jobs and sustainability of the environment. We achieve this by applying a holistic and innovative approach to community and economic development to provide housing and small business services. We believe offering innovative programs, products, services and social enterprises that are customer-centric and interconnected to successfully create meaningful impact. NPHS is a local nonprofit community development organization part of the Neighborworks® Network which is dedicated to building stronger communities by providing down payment options, homebuyer education, homeownership retention counseling (foreclosure prevention counseling), financial literacy workshops and neighborhood revitalization services for families in the Inland Empire and Eastern Los Angeles County. Spanning over its 21 years of service, NPHS has become one of the most respected and innovative nonprofit housing organizations in the Inland Empire and Eastern LA County. Established in 1991 in the City of Montclair as a grassroots neighborhood organization, NPHS has grown into a multi-faceted community development corporation providing comprehensive Redevelopment, Lending, Real Estate and Education services to a diverse range of stakeholders including residents, local governments, private sector businesses and other nonprofit organizations. NPHS is affiliated with the congressionally chartered NeighborWorks® America and certified by the United States Treasury as a Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI). NPHS is also approved by the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) as a Housing Counseling Agency. In addition, NPHS is certified by HUD to provide secondary FHA financing. NPHS currently employs 21 full-time employees of whom 80% are bilingual (English and Spanish).
