When we introduced a cart feature for our D2C webshops, some game studios were skeptical. They said things like: "Players only buy one item at a time in-game. Why would they need a cart?" "We only sell one virtual currency. Players will just pick the amount they need and buy it as one item." But here’s what actually happened when we added a cart: • Many players began to buy multiple items at once. • Even single-currency games saw players stocking up, especially for events. The cart isn't just for checkout, it’s a powerful monetization and marketing tool: recommendations, volume-based discounts, and upsells all help drive spend - and better offers for players.
