Today, a group of 9 states announced an agreement, led by NESCAUM, to accelerate the transition to zero-emission residential buildings by significantly expanding #heatpump sales. States set a shared target for heat pumps to make up at least 65% of new HVAC and water heating sales by 2030 and 90% by 2040. This sends a strong signal that heat pumps will become standard practice in homes, giving market players the confidence to ramp up production and build the contractor base. Thank you, California, Colorado, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, and Rhode Island, for your climate leadership! This collective effort will: ✅Cut climate pollution ✅Clean up our air ✅Provide highly efficient heating AND cooling ✅Build climate resilience Huge thanks to the partners who supported this effort: Building Decarbonization Coalition, Ceres, Inc., Northeast Energy Efficiency Partnerships (NEEP), RMI, Climate Imperative Foundation, and Sunstone Strategies. It's exciting to see so many great news stories today. Here are just 2 of them: https://lnkd.in/e82sxjgZ https://lnkd.in/ex2RbZEh Emily Levin
