That’s why we’re thrilled to announce that the Massachusetts Department of Energy Resources (DOER) new Affordable Housing Decarbonization Technical Assistance Program is now accepting applications! VEIC will be providing expert support to help property owners access funding, develop scopes of work, and recommend short- and long-term building electrification paths to eligible projects all at no cost. This program is a key part of the Commonwealth’s goal to improve public health, address housing affordability, and accelerate Massachusetts’ clean energy transition. With deep gratitude, we announce a change in our board leadership at VEIC. Ellen Zuckerman has effectively guided the organization as Board Chair since January 2023, and she stepped down at the end of December. Under Ellen's leadership, we achieved significant milestones, including the adoption of our current strategic plan, continued organizational growth, and the launch of our VEIC Culture Statement. Thank you, Ellen, for your dedication and impactful contributions. They will continue to strengthen our organization in the years to come. We are lucky to have Ellen remain on VEIC’s board.    We are also thrilled to welcome Oswaldo Acosta as our new Board Chair. As CEO of City First Enterprises. Oswaldo brings a wealth of experience and a strong commitment to advancing our mission. His focus on underserved communities, climate finance, and initiatives in Washington, DC, will be instrumental in driving VEIC forward. Solar for All is on its way, Vermont! The Vermont Department of Public Service (PSD) and the State of Vermont Energy Office kicked off the new program’s planning year with ambitious goals to make the benefits of clean energy more accessible to all. At a time when energy affordability is top of mind for many, VEIC is proud to help the state design a program that lowers costs, reduces pollution, and creates good-paying jobs for local communities statewide.
