🚩 Monterey Sailors and Marines Team Up in the 2024 Captain’s Cup! 🚩 Sailors from Center for Information Warfare Training Monterey and Marines from the Marine Corps Detachment Monterey joined forces for the annual Captain’s Cup at the Presidio of Monterey. The event, designed to promote warrior toughness and resilience, brought nearly 700 service members together for a series of challenges that tested their physical and mental strength. 💪 The event wasn’t just about competition—Master Chief Petty Officer Laura Stout emphasized the importance of teamwork: “Our goal was to strengthen the Navy-Marine Corps bond and build a team that’s fleet-ready.” Congratulations to the USS Bonhomme Richard team for winning the flag contest with their creative design, and hats off to all who participated! 🌐 Strengthening Cyber Defense Through Cutting-Edge Training 🌐 This summer, Center for Information Warfare Training (IWTC) Corry Station introduced the Cyber Defense Analyst-Host Course, a pilot program designed to enhance cyber defense capabilities across the military. This 8-week course equips service members and United States Department of Defense civilians with essential skills for defensive cyber operations, including threat mitigation, vulnerability assessments, and media analysis. Chief Petty Officer Nicholas Culver emphasized the impact: "This course ensures we deliver Sailors who are capable, confident, and practiced in complex host analysis." What a great day! Welcomed Naval Education and Training Command’s newest Chief Petty Officer into the Chief’s Mess. Welcome to the new Navy Chiefs Navy-wide. AND Navy Recruiting Command achieved its FY24 All Navy contracting mission - Active and Reserve components- after raising its goal 6,000 Sailors more than FY23 (42,925 total this year). They cleared the higher bar with room to spare with ~10,000 in the Delayed Entry Pool (DEP) to start the new fiscal year.
