Forging Sailors into Combat Systems Warfighters who are prepared to fight, to win, and to return home safely!
About us
Surface Combat Systems Training Command (SCSTC) falls under the Naval Education and Training Command. We are a training organization of over 6,500 staff and students across 12 global locations throughout the continental United States, Hawaii, Japan, and Spain. Our mission is to provide the U.S. Navy and our allies with highly trained warfighters to maintain, operate, and tactically employ surface combat systems across the spectrum of operations. Annually, we deliver training to over 37,000 U.S. Navy Sailors as well as 700 international Sailors from 27 partner nations. SCSTC provides platform, baseline and billet specific maritime warfare training to officers assigned to surface ships. We also prepare enlisted Sailors to operate, maintain and tactically employ sensors, weapons, communications, and combat systems. This training is delivered throughout a career for eight enlisted ratings: Fire Controlman, Fire Controlman Aegis, Electronic Technician, Interior Communication, Sonar Technician (Surface), Gunner’s Mate, Mineman, and Operations Specialist. Training commences at “A” and “C” Schools and follow-on courses are taught at SCSTC sites/dets in each homeport. Additionally, we execute waterfront training aboard commissioned ships in all Navy homeports through the Advanced Warfighting Training series. We fulfill a similar training mission for international partners who operate U.S. manufactured systems. SCSTC International Programs Directorate is the Training Agent for Program Executive Office Integrated Warfare Systems 4.0. In this role, SCSTC is responsible to plan, manage and execute international acquisition training efforts starting with initial training and continuing through lifetime support. SCSTC is a global organization with a huge responsibility to the Surface Force. We are training warfighters to employ, maintain, and repair their systems while defending our national interests and protecting the global commons - whenever and wherever called.

Happy Navy Day! ⚓️ Navy Day was first celebrated by the Navy League of the United States in 1922. At that point in time, many considered this day (27 October) to be the Navy’s birthday because in 1775, on 27 October, the Continental Congress was presented with a document supporting the purchase of a fleet of ships to form an American navy. Furthermore, 27 October is the birthday of President Theodore Roosevelt, who both served as Assistant Secretary of the Navy and was a strong supporter of the observance of a Navy Day. Navy Day was last officially observed in 1949, when Secretary of Defense Louis A. Johnson announced the replacement of separate Army, Navy and Air Force Days with Armed Forces Day, which is celebrated annually on the third Saturday of May. Although no longer an official observance, Navy Day continues to be recognized by both civilians and Navy personnel, with the Navy League continuing to coordinate and organize events of recognition and remembrance. #NavyDay #USNavy #SupportOurTroops #NavyVeterans #NavalHistory #MaritimeSecurity #NavyAppreciation Naval Education and Training Command MyNavyHR

This past week Surface Combat Systems Training Command Detachment Middle Pacific (SCSTC DET MIDPAC) held a reenlistment ceremony aboard the Battleship Missouri Memorial in honor of Fire Controlman (Aegis) 1st Class Bruce Roppe. We are excited for Roppe as he continues his career in service to our nation and Navy at SCSTC DET MIDPAC! There are numerous benefits that might entice one to reenlist including a paycheck, medical benefits, education, etc. However, after deployments, long hours and the sacrifices made by our Sailors and their dedicated families, the immaterial keep our men and women reciting the oath once again. Serving in the Navy is about being a part of something bigger than oneself. It is about Honor, Courage, and Commitment. #OnThisDay, 21 October, in 1797 the frigate USS Constitution launched from Edmund Hartt Shipyard in Boston, Massachusetts. The world’s oldest commissioned warship, USS Constitution was retired from service in 1881 and designated a museum ship in 1907. A longstanding symbol of our nation’s fighting spirit, USS Constitution serves as a magnificent testimony to naval heritage and is a phenomenal resource for educating the public. #onthisdayinhistory #todayinhistory #scstc #usnavy #ussconstitution #NavalHeritage US Navy Naval Education and Training Command MyNavyHR Surface Combat Systems Training Command Western Pacific
