Veterans bring a disciplined, skilled and ready-to-work attitude to the workplace. It's why we recruit and hire them. Many of our NHEC employees are veterans who bring incredible skills to the table. Hear from our President & CEO, Alyssa, a Navy veteran, about why hiring veterans should be a strategic move for any company.

Our crews remain on the front lines, assisting fellow lineworkers at Rutherford Electric Co-op in western NC. There are still tens of thousands of families without power in the devastating aftermath of #HurricaneHelene. Before sunrise this morning, nine of our lineworkers and two operations supervisors left to relieve our crews who have been away from home for two weeks. We are incredibly proud of all our crews and we can’t thank them enough for the sacrifices they make to help communities here and afar. Safe travels and thank you for your commitment to serving our members and your mutual aid to others.

“I’ve always liked working in design and doing field work and using some of that creativity to solve a problem,” said Nate Grace, one of the line designers at the Co-op. A third generation of his family to work at the Co-op, Nate has the utility’s DNA in his blood. Read his story here: https://lnkd.in/g-7HV-Ud

Improving service reliability is one of the key pillars in our five-year strategic plan and one of the best things we can do to serve our members. NHEC is rebuilding 21 substations as part of a multi-year project that will improve reliability and help meet increased electrical demand. The new Bridgewater substation in Plymouth adds capacity, reliability and capability to backup members normally served from other nearby stations. This station serves members in parts of Bridgewater, Holderness, Bristol, New Hampton, Center Harbor, and Plymouth. With the Bridgewater substation set for completion by the end of 2024, we’ll be moving on to Tuftonboro substation. Stay updated on project progress here and at NHEC.com.

There's something special about being part of a cooperative. There's a neighbor-helping-neighbor mentality, except you're fortunate to have neighbors all across the country. Electric cooperatives operate under the guiding principle of “Cooperation Among Cooperatives." This week, we sent crews to help restore power in North Carolina, demonstrating our commitment to aiding other cooperatives in times of need. It takes a lot to keep the power on, but luckily we get by with a little help from our friends. Thank you Rappahannock Electric Cooperative and Northern Neck Electric Cooperative for participating in this video! #mutualaid #CooperationAmongCooperatives

Our linemen are on the front lines in western North Carolina supporting Rutherford Electric and other fellow NRECA cooperatives clearing trees and debris as power restoration work continues in the devastating aftermath of #HurricaneHelene. We’ve all seen the unbelievable damage done in this area and we are incredibly proud of our crews for stepping up to help. The people of North Carolina, and other areas hit hard, and the many working to help them are in our thoughts.

NH Broadband Customer Spotlight: Rumney Village Store “So we had Spectrum, price got to be ridiculous. So, we switched to the broadband and the service has been much better, the price has been consistent, there’s no jumps, no hidden fees, taxes, anything like that.” - George Bonfiglio, Owner of the Rumney Village Store. Thank you, George, for trusting us to keep your business connected!

An interest in physics and chemistry, coupled with an aptitude in maths and sciences seemed like a natural gravitational pull toward an engineering career for Cooper Beaudet, a career that is growing and flourishing here at the Co-op. Read his story here: https://lnkd.in/gzYM5XR6
