Today was a special day at the Apartments at St. Barts as we celebrated the opening of Phase II. This project is another of NewCourtland's trademark permanent senior affordable housing with supportive services properties, which pairs housing, healthcare, social, and wellness programs in an environment that promotes respect and dignity. Joe Duffey welcomed the 48 new tenants to the thriving community of 42 original tenants and all the neighbors who attend programs but live in the neighborhood. Thanks to the support of our political and community representatives, Joseph Hohenstein, Senator Christoper Tartaglione, Councilwoman Quetzy Lozada, Representing the 7th District, Frankford Neighborhood Advisory Committee, Wissonoming Civic Association, Krissi Judd with The Love Pray Peace Project and Collie Turner, THP with Heroic Gardens. To our investors and funders: Pennsylvania House of Representatives, Chris Tully with RBC, Citizens, DHCD, Federal Home Loan Bank of Boston, Federal Home Loan Bank of Pittsburgh, U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, and Angela Steele with Stone Sherick Consulting Group, LLC., we could not be here in this neighborhood without you. And to the general contractor, Paul McDonald, McDonald Building Company, and Chris Stigler, AIA, LEED AP, NCARB, Blackney Hayes Architects, for supporting our vision. Also recognized were NewCourtland's dedicated project managers, John Ungar and Tameata Jordan, Max Kent, property managers, maintenance staff, social services coordinators, and staff who work tirelessly every day to help us keep this property running smoothly.
