Check out our latest blog...What Is a Closed Adoption? Every adoption story is unique, and the level of contact a birth mother has with her child and the adoptive family is entirely up to the birth parents. Closed adoption is one option that prioritizes privacy, where birth parents and adoptive families do not share personal details or maintain communication after the adoption is finalized. While open and semi-open adoptions have become more common, some women still choose a closed adoption for specific reasons. Keep reading to learn more about closed adoptions. About Closed Adoptions In a closed adoption, the birth mother’s identity remains confidential, and she does not meet or have direct contact with the adoptive family. Any necessary medical history is provided through the adoption agency, but beyond that, no identifying information gets exchanged. After the adoption is legally completed in Texas, the records are sealed, and the child typically cannot access them until adulthood. An adoption agency or attorney manages the entire process, ensuring that all legal requirements are met and that both parties understand their rights and responsibilities. Last month God grew 3 families by adoption! 2 little girls and 1 little boy went home to their forever families. Each baby was welcomed by an older sibling! Please pray for the 3 birth families who chose life for their babies and chose the families for their baby. All 3 chose an open adoption. Pray for the 3 adoptive families as they start their journey with their little one. #AdoptionIsALovingOption
