Boat People SOS (BPSOS) - Houston began serving the Vietnamese American community in the 1980s. With decades of experience providing legal services and supporting community members' health care system navigation, they were the perfect partners for Texas CEAL. From the start, BPSOS - Houston was aligned with Texas CEAL's mission to strengthen engagement of Vietnamese Americans in health research. BPSOS - Houston was involved in all stages of the research process. They conducted outreach, recruited participants, facilitated focus groups, and collected data. Jannette Diep, CHW, Executive Director of BPSOS - Houston, chatted with us about how they incorporated community voices into the research and how BPSOS - Houston's partnership with Texas CEAL has benefited their community. Check out the full interview and attend her APHA presentation to learn more about this community-based participatory research (CBPR) project: https://bit.ly/3NuGRV6
