Great news for Appalachia from The White House today! 📣 The EnergyCommunities AmeriCorps project will place volunteers in coal-impacted communities to support workforce development, sustainability and local economic development plans. 🌱 Funding from ARC, U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), U.S. Department of Commerce, U.S. Department of the Interior and Bloomberg Philanthropies will help Conservation Legacy recruit 150 members to serve in nine federal coal regions - including Appalachian Kentucky, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and West Virginia! The project is part of the American Climate Corps, a workforce training initiative to prepare the next generation for new jobs in clean energy, climate resilience and more. ♻️ We're so excited to see how this will strengthen Appalachian coal communities!
