At NMS, we take great pride in supporting Alaska's Pioneer Homes. Our hospitality services ensure that Elders and residents are treated with the utmost care, respect, and comfort. Recently, our team had the opportunity to bring a special taste of Alaska to these communities. Greg Owens, our Hospitality Services Director at the Sitka Pioneer Home, partnered with local Captain Andrew of the F/V Palma Bay to secure hundreds of pounds of fresh King Salmon straight off the boat. Through quick coordination, these premium filets, steaks, and other delicious cuts were delivered to several of our Southcentral and Interior locations, including Marlow Manor, Southcentral Foundation Detox, Fairbanks Pioneer Home, Alaska Veterans Pioneer Home in Palmer, and Anchorage Pioneer Home. The arrival of the salmon was met with excitement as our teams prepared the fish into a variety of dishes for our residents and customer-owners. Many of them were thrilled to enjoy the familiar flavors of the foods they grew up eating. As Craig Billingsley, our Director of Operations, noted, "It is so important to offer the bounties of our great state to our residents any chance we can." This effort is just one example of how NMS goes above and beyond to create memorable experiences and ensure the well-being of those we serve. We extend a huge thank you to Greg and all the managers at each location for their skill in turning this opportunity into a moment of joy and connection for our residents. NMS remains steadfast in our commitment to providing exceptional service across all our facilities, ensuring every resident feels valued, secure, and cared for. This commitment is at the heart of everything we do.

A big shout-out to all the NMS team members who showed up at our annual employee barbecue. Celebrating 50 years together – wow! We couldn’t have done it without the hard work of every single one of you. Seeing you all with your families reminded us why we do what we do. It’s all about the people, the stories, and the shared moments that make this journey worthwhile. Huge thanks to the Alaska Zoo for hosting us and to Kaladi Brothers Coffee for bringing the mobile café. Here’s to many more years of rolling up our sleeves and getting it done, together!
