EIHA will be attending an important conference at the Senate of the Republic in Rome on October 22nd 🇮🇹 This event is pivotal as we discuss the future of industrial hemp amidst challenging legislative developments in Italy. Recent amendments in Italian law threaten the hemp sector with severe restrictions on hemp inflorescences and derivatives, including essential products like CBD. These prohibitions could significantly impact the economic viability and innovative potential of the industry. Following the conference, on October 23, Lorenza is invited to a public hearing at the Senate where these issues will be further discussed. EIHA stands with national associations against these regulatory challenges, advocating for policies that recognize the environmental and economic benefits of hemp. 🌱 Today, EIHA had the pleasure of attending an insightful event organized by CannabisHub in Madrid, focusing on the regulation of CBD and other hemp-derived products in Spain and the EU. 📢 The main and solid messages delivered are the need to address the current interpretation by Spanish authorities of the UN Single Convention of 1961. There is also a pressing need to include all industrial products, encompassing all parts of the hemp plant, under the mandate of the Agriculture Ministry. Adopting a whole plant approach is essential for sustaining the supply chain in our sector. 🙏 We would like to extend our gratitude to all the team for organizing such a significant event.
